Entry # 3 Emerald Chocolate Treasure

Tradition is something many of us are familiar with but looks different in each household. Growing up, my mom did the best she could as a single parent. She struggled financially, however, she ensured that when it mattered, she made experiences special for me and my little brother. Her way of making milestones or victories, big or small, special was allowing us to pick where we wanted to celebrate. Olive Garden was my go-to destination for my moments of glory and new age.

Picture this: the clinking of glasses, the laughter of loved ones, and the comforting aroma of Italian cuisine drifting through the air. These are the elements that made Olive Garden an integral part of my celebratory moments. But amidst the delicious pasta and savory breadsticks, there’s one tiny detail that stands out, those delightful rectangular chocolate treasures the waiter brings with the bill.

The vivid emerald hue and subtle shimmer exude an air of elegance and refinement. The moment it touches your taste buds, you are transported to a winter wonderland, even on the hottest Arizona summer day. Wrapped in a coat of dark, velvety chocolate, this treat boasts an intriguing duality of textures. The outer layer is an enticing contract to the smooth, creamy core that lies within. It’s a tantalizing play of firmness against softness. But it’s the taste that truly captivates. The flavor of an exquisite blend of coolness and sweetness, an embodiment of tranquility and indulgence. It’s as if a whisper of freshness dances on your palate, leaving you with a sense of rejuvenation.

This subtle yet enchanting creation is an ideal conclusion to any cuisine journey. It’s a blend of sugary warmth and cool elegance and is an invitation to experience moments of bliss. It’s a treat that doesn’t impose itself; it gently introduces itself into your sensory world.

These chocolatey refreshing morsels have become symbolic of my victories, no matter how small they might be. Whether it was acing a school test, graduating high school after becoming a teen mother, or simply turning 31, our family tradition dictates that we must mark these occasions with a trip to Olive Garden. The emerald chocolate treasures are the exclamation point of these moments, leaving a sweet memory that lingers after we’ve left the restaurant.
